Depending on your preferences and/or our needs on site, you may be asked to: act as Ambassador/Greeter at the main entrance to Pasatiempo or at the clubhouse, or drive a rental van for our shuttle service, or direct folks to designated parking areas, or restock supplies / serve as a runner, or help with setup and/or takedown. This is a great role for: anyone who only wants to volunteer for part of the day, so you can save time to watch the tournament either before or after your shift, or people who want to volunteer together as a team (with friends and/or family), or volunteers who are either new to golf, or not as familiar with the sport. On the day of your assigned shift, please arrive early enough to account for parking, training, and setting up. We will update you with the latest information as we get closer to the event. Thanks for your interest and support! NOTE: If you can't find an available spot, we invite you to add your name to the waitlist for the shift(s) that interest you most. We try to find space for all interested volunteers as best we can, and especially appreciate the extra help when last-minute cancellations come in, or volunteers ask to change schedules. Volunteer: Spotter for Golf ChannelEach Spotter will be assigned to a group, and will follow along inside the ropes. At all times, they must know what each player lies and what player will be hitting next, which they will communicate back to the television truck via radio. This role requires a very solid understanding of the rules of the game, good communication skills, and the ability to walk 18 holes each day. Spotters get to watch the action unfold up close, and there is no better seat in the house. They are integral to the success of our telecast! The Golf Channel production team would prefer to have volunteers who can work all three days, but will welcome and train anyone who can help. On the day(s) you volunteer, we will provide lunch for you, along with snacks and water. Please arrive early enough to account for parking, training, and setting up. Volunteer: Walking Scorer: select your preferred shift(s)Use this listing to lock down your preferred shift for Walking Scorer, but please DO NOT SELECT MORE THAN ONE SHIFT PER DAY. Each Walking Scorer will be assigned to a foursome, and will be tracking scores in real time, entering them into Scoreboard by Clippd to keep the leaderboard up-to-date. You must have a general understanding of golf, be accurate in your record-keeping, and be able to walk the entire course alongside your assigned golfers. To submit the scores in real-time, you must have a smartphone that you are willing to use while working. You will also be provided with a backup radio that you must use when you encounter spotty cell service. NOTE: Since the tournament is broadcast live on Golf Channel, it's imperative that you submit scores immediately after each hole. If in doubt about cell service or coverage, you must use the backup radio to confirm your group's scores have been logged successfully. The foursomes will all have assigned tee times, so volunteer shifts will have different start and end times, but you must be able to work the full round. (Plan on a 6 hour shift.) On the day(s) of your assigned shift(s), we will cover your lunch at the clubhouse grill, and provide you with snacks and water at check-in, which you can also replenish at the turn, midway through your group's round, and at the end of your shift when you return your backup radio. Please arrive early enough to account for parking, training, and setting up. We will update you with the latest information as we get closer to the event. Thank you for your interest and support!
